Flood Status
On the weekend of July 24,25 2010, Freeport suffered much flooding. Activities for that weekend had to be curtailed. Since then, great progress has been made in repairing flood damage and we plan to be open for all future events on our schedule. Please stay tuned for updates.
The Silver Creek Museum did suffer some damage to the elevator, so if you are planning a visit and are unable to climb stairs, please call ahead for an update on whether it is running.
The Silver Creek and Stephenson Railroad has been repaired and reopened from end to end. Trains now run the the entire length of the railroad as was the case before the flood.
Threshing Show
The Threshing Show brings together a variety of agricultural and industrial equipment, including antique tractors, steam traction engines, horse-powered agricultural machines, stationary engines, and much more for a three day event that celebrates the machines that helped America grow.
The Silver Creek and Stephenson Railroad
The Silver Creek and Stephenson Railroad recreates the sights and sounds of branchline railroading with its rare Heisler steam locomotive. Take a ride through railroading history.
The Train of Terror
The Train of Terror runs on select October nights, providing its passengers with a ghoulish prelude to halloween. Come ride the rails for a spook-tacular trip through your darkest nightmares.
The Silver Creek Museum
The Silver Creek Museum contains 28 rooms of memories from yesteryear, including much of the fascinating history of the Freeport area. In addition to the displays in the main museum, come see our 130-ton stationary steam engine, the largest within 500 miles.
